My heart goes to you: Perhaps you feel lonely sometimes or some memories are coming up or you are dealing with strange christmas gifts.
I wish you all the best, strength, humor, creativity - or what ever you need. Together we can make it through these days.

Merry Christmas, all of you!
Yes, today is the day that we in Denmark celebrate Christmas.
Tonight, families all around the country gather around the dinner tables, to eat delicious food, laugh, talk and enjoy each others company.
After dinner, they'll grab each others hands and form a circle around the Christmas tree, where all the present are piled up around the bottom. They'll 'dance' first one way, then the other in a circle around the tree, singing our traditional carols or at least the first and last verse of 3-4 of them.
After the traditional dancing around the tree, they'll sit down with coffee, tea, what ever they prefer and smile while presents are being picked from under the tree one by one and opened by the right receivers.
Most likely, the kids will get to open a present each at a time, so it's calm and easy for the adults to watch each other unwrap presents.
And when everyone one is exhausted from all the good food, the excitement and the good company, Grandmother or Grandfather will grab a book, a very special book, and everybody will settle down to listen. And while night slowly sneaks in, Granny or Grandpa will read "Peter's Jul" (Peter's Christmas), watching the kids and sometimes the other adults nod off slowly... .
Tonight, my thoughts will go to my family, as I curl up on the couch with my beloved cats, some coffee, tea, a bowl of candy and one with tangerines. I will smile and miss them, knowing that they're having a great evening. And that next year will bring us all many happy hours together. Without the crazyness of BPD, but with lots of healing and healthy instead.
So Merry Christmas to everyone on these boards. May your day be as blessed as mine.

I've never felt so close to a group of strangers than here. It's almost like a group of war veterans reuniting. We all share something special and difficult. I, like many others here, am grateful for this board and what it has provided during these troubled times. People in our daily lives, family, friends and others mean well in trying to understand and help us, but they only know what we reveal and sometimes it's really hard to reveal everything to those around us. The issues that happened in our lives often took place behind closed doors. We know what happened, have blocked a lot of it out, and our BPD's also know what happened, but often chose to minimize or deny and then blame others. The closed doors have been opened and revealed the fresh air of choice and freedom. Heartfelt thanks to all you "strangers" and wherever you might be, or how your feeling, may you have at least some moment of peace during these holidays.

The fact that so many of us have been on this site today (it's already 6pm on Christmas day in eastern Australia) says a lot about what we've been through/are still going through. Best wishes to everyone in the "Family" for a safe and happy Christmas and a saner, more fulfilling 2014.

What an auspicious occasion! To think that I should move from the "staying" board to the "leaving" board on Christmas Eve!
Its a good thing I feel free and without stress for the first time in 3 months. I don't know if my stay here will be long as I feel less wounded by my short BPD relationship than many of you, but I can tell you all that what I've read in all of these sub forums prepared me quite well for the sudden shift I experienced that left me here in a matter of days. To go from her "everything" to just another dude while she gets it on with her replacement within 5 days is sure something.
You people prepared me quite well for it. I came here trying to be the one who stayed. I hoped to make it work. Now I see that I was always destined to be left this way, and when it came I was so completely prepared. I saw it for what it was.
There's still something inhere poking around, and I'm sure I may shed another tear for her before long, but at the very least I don't feel lost. If anything I feel found for the first time since I met her.
Cheers and merry christmas to you all.

Yes, happy Christmas to you all. I'm so thankful to have found this board, to finally explain so much that made no sense for so long.
Here's hoping we all have a 2014 we deserve - strong of heart, clear of mind and moving towards a more balanced and rewarding future.

I also want to thank the bpdfamily for helping me through all this, because without the advice here, I'd still be trying to make our relationship work, giving a little more of me, trying not to upset him, etc... .
It's been hard to face the facts but just to know that other people here go through the same thing, it makes me feel normal. Just reading other peoples stories and posts makes me feel understood.
I remember the first day I found this site - it was like a warm bubble bath of sanity for the first time in 17 years.
Thank you and Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night! Thanks for being such a lifeline for the last 2 years and helping me heal. And-- too funny about the strange Christmas gifts. Yeah, we got some doozies. I was wondering if there was a thread of "totally inappropriate holiday gifts" up and running yet.

Ho ho ho! I hope everyone had a good one. I have much gratitude for BPD Family. You have helped me through some difficult times. I saw my ex last year around this time and that was the last time I saw her. Part of me wanted to send her a Christmas message or card but I made no contact. I suppose it is for the best. I really did experience heaven and hell with that woman. Merry Christmas, M.
